DB-S: Fade Away (Part I)

I was going to do a backstory for Ravanna in one comic, but
there's just no way I can do it. It just keeps going <<;;; I needed a break.

more to the point, Ravii was born into a very strictly conservative family; both of her parents are shiny, and right from the start Ravii was considered a disappointment to her lineage to have come out a normal eevee. Unlike the majority of eevee clans, Ravanna comes from a very small, nomadic unit that consist entirely of shinies and the offspring of shinies. To not be born with the trait is incredibly common considering how rare shiny is, but to the family in question, it's also almost a taboo, considered bad luck. So right from the star, Ravanna was viewed as bad luck.
Her mother, though supposedly the matriarch considering it's a matriarchal society, has long since taken a backseat to her very controlling and overbearing husband; Ravanna only refers to him as "the reverend". And no one speaks back to the reverend. Not even his own wife was safe from his violent temper.

He has a very small flock, and considering the fact their family doesn't remain in one place for very long, he doesn't really maintain much of a following other than his family and a few stragglers. Thing is, he doesn't accept just anyone into his "loving arms", he's only interested in furthering shiny lineage and helping with the cause for shinies over normal.

Pious and well-mannered, one would never suspect a man of the cloth who roamed from town-to-town living off of the charity of others would be such a violent and outspoken person. It was up to her mother to keep poor Ravii from being beaten, but when she caught sight of her daughter giving a kiss to another girl, young or otherwise, she had no choice but to tell her husband. She kept it from him for a short while, but fearing his wrath when he figured it out, and he was bound to considering she wasn't the only parent in the park that afternoon, she had to tell him. It, of course, resulted in a beating for both of them.
